He began his rabbinical studies at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in the Summer of 2011 -- where he developed a passion for Tanakh/Hebrew Bible (his favorite book of the Bible is Jonah) and modern Jewish thought (he wrote his rabbinical thesis on Arthur Green). He has served as student rabbi at the Jewish Community Center of Laramie, WY; Temple Shaaray Tefila (Manhattan); Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of our Lives (Brooklyn); and elsewhere. He was ordained a rabbi by the New York campus of HUC-JIR in May 2016.
Daniel is the Rabbi of Temple Beth Shalom in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. He previously served for six years as an Assistant/Associate Rabbi at Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, NY. He also serves as a CCAR (Central Conference of American Rabbis) Rabbinic Mentor for soon-to-be- and newly-ordained rabbis; on the CCAR Nominating Committee; as a Faculty Member at URJ Crane Lake Camp; on the Steering Committee the Rivertowns Interfaith Clergy Association; is active in the Tisch Fellowship Alumni Network; and is active in the Westchester Board of Rabbis.
Daniel is married to Leah, and they are the proud parents of two daughters.
